CASABLANCA
Upon arrival, we will check-in at 5* Le Casablanca Hotel and enjoy a delightful brunch. We will then embark on a visit to the economic city, starting with a panoramic tour of Casablanca and its diverse neighborhoods, followed by a guided visit to the Museum of the Jews of Morocco. Later, we will explore the Mellah (the Jewish Quarter) and visit the synagogues of Beth El and Neve Shalom. We will conclude our day with a lavish Gala Dinner.
MEKNES
After breakfast, we will transfer to Fes with a stop in Meknes, known as the Moroccan Versailles. Meknes was founded at the end of the 17th century by Moulay Ismail and still bears evidence of Jewish presence, including Hebraic epitaphs dating from the Christian era and Greek inscriptions found in local synagogues. We will visit the bustling old Mellah, where eight of its eleven synagogues still serve congregations. During the visit, we will also explore Bab Mansour, the Meknes Stables, Hedim Square, Thursday Gate, and the mosque of Moulay Ismail. Afterward, we will depart for Fes, the most extensive medieval city in the Arab world and a historic home for Jewish scholars and rabbis. We will be staying at the beautiful 5* Marriott Jnan Palace hotel in Fez.
FES
We will start this day with a visit to the Mellah (Jewish Quarter) of Fes, including the Tomb of Solica, and take a Fes Jewish Heritage Tour. We will also explore the historic city and other famous sites in the fantastic city of Fes.
RABAT
Refreshed rested and well fed, we will depart for Marrakesh, the "red city," via Rabat. We will be visiting Rabat, the capital of Morocco, including the Mausoleum of Mohamed V (the king who protected the Moroccan Jewish community) and the Oudaya Gardens. Continuing our journey, we will arrive in Marrakesh, check in at the hotel, The 5* Naoura Barriere, and enjoy a walking tour of the medina, exploring the famous Night Market.
MARRAKECH
Starting early, we will delve into the world of Jewish Marrakesh. We will visit the Mellah with its synagogues, including the Negidim Synagogue built at the end of the 19th century. Another significant synagogue in the Mellah is Salat el Alzama, built at the turn of the century. There is a local legend that claims this synagogue was built during the Second Temple period by Jews who had never lived in Eretz-Israel and hadn't witnessed the destruction of the temple. We will also explore the Old Rampart of the Mellah. In the afternoon, we will return to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat and attend services at Laazama Synagogue. Shabbat dinner will be served, and we will stay overnight in Marrakesh at our hotel.
MARRAKECH
We will spend a wonderful and memorable Shabbat in Marrakesh and enjoy a walking tour of the city.
MARRAKECH
After breakfast, we will depart for the Berber village of Ourika to experience the Berber way of life. Passing through the Vallée d'Ourika and visit Aghbalou, an old Berber Jewish sanctuary and synagogue. Here, we will find the tomb of tzaddik Rabbi Shlomo Bel Hansh, which is the site of one of the largest pilgrimages in Morocco.
Returning to Marrakesh we will visit the Bahia Palace, the beautiful Majorelle Gardens, and have a chance to meet a local herbalist.
Finishing the tour with the famous Gaya flair, we will take a short ride into the dessert, to a place called Agafay, where we will enjoy activities such as camel and ATV rides, followed by a lavish authentic outdoor barbecue dinner.
This morning we will transfer to Casablanca airport by bus with assistance during boarding. This concludes our magical tour. It's also an option to fly back home from Marrakesh with a stopover in Casablanca
